Qureshi/Rojer Make Winning Marseille Start

Doubles 2013

The No. 1 and No. 2 seeded teams won their openers with identical 6-4, 6-2 score-lines at the Open 13 on Tuesday in Marseille. Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer dismissed Andre Begemann and Martin Emmrich, while Rohan Bopanna and Colin Fleming eased past Robin Haase and Dick Norman.

Defending champions Nicolas Mahut and Edouard Roger-Vasselin also advanced, topping fourth-seeded countrymen Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra 3-6, 7-5, 10-7.

At the U.S. National Indoor Tennis Championships in Memphis, Eric Butorac and Paul Hanley beat Treat Huey and Dominic Inglot 7-5, 6-4. Other first-round winners included Santiago Gonzalez/Scott Lipsky and Marin Cilic/Andre Sa
