Bernard Tomic set a second-round meeting with second seed Andy Murray at the Sony Open Tennis after edging qualifier Marc Gicquel 7-5, 7-6(3) on Thursday afternoon. The 20-year-old Australian overcame a break deficit in the first set to prevail against the Frenchman in 83 minutes.
