Dimitrov, Raonic Sizzle In Men's Journal 'Hit Squad' Spread
by ATP Staff|
Grigor Dimitrov and Milos Raonic lead the next generation of ATP World Tour stars in a Men’s Journal feature called ‘Hit Squad’. “Fast, Powerful, Confident: The next wave of tennis greats are clawing their way up the ranks and looking to take down the sport’s dominant top four,” describes the magazine.
Dimitrov opens the black and white fashion spread, photographed by Theo Wenner. “Called ‘little Federer’ for his fluid strokes, he’s a perpetual threat, particularly on hard court, with a dangerous topspin forehand and a creative, some say restless, style of play,” writes Mark Healy.
Throughout ‘Hit Squad’, players name what opponents fear about their game. Raonic shares, “My serve. It puts a lot of pressure on them, because if I get a break, I can serve out the set quite consistently.”
“When he was 11, Harrison met his tennis-pro dad in the finals of the Shreveport City Tournament (his father won), and they knew Ryan needed more competition,” Healy writes, continuing on the opposite page, “When big brother Ryan was battling Dad in the Shreveport City Tournament, nine-year-old Christian was in the stands pouring Coke on his little sister. He’s since learned to pay the game some respect, competing in his first year on the pro tour and playing doubles with Ryan.”
