Murray Triumphs In Celebrity Golf Tournament

Former Wimbledon mixed doubles champion Jamie Murray proved he is a dab hand at golf as well as tennis at the weekend. The Scot, older brother of World No. 2 Andy Murray, clinched victory for Scotland in the inaugural Celebrity Cup at Golf Live.
The event, staged at Celtic Manor in Wales – host of the 2010 Ryder Cup - saw Murray join with countrymen Kenny Logan, an ex-rugby star, and footballing legends Alan Hansen, Kenny Dalglish and Gordon Strachan in beating England, Wales and Ireland.
The 27-year-old Murray was the hero for Scotland as he landed a pitch from 100 yards to within six feet in a nearest-the-pin shootout with England.
The Celebrity Cup helped raise £65,000 for the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation, which was established in 2007 by golfer Colin Montgomerie in memory of his mother, who died of cancer.
Murray won his eighth ATP World Tour doubles title in April at the US Men's Clay Court Championship, partnering Australian John Peers in an upset final victory over Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan.
