Fifth seed Grigor Dimitrov rallied from a set down against Italian Filippo Volandri to reach the quarter-finals of the SkiStar Swedish Open in Bastad Wednesday. After dropping serve twice in the opening set, the 22-yer-old Bulgarian fought off one break point in each of the second and third sets en route to a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 over Volandri.

Dimitrov improved to a 23-14 record on the season, just one win shy of his 24-19 record on the 2012 season. He next meets third-seeded Argentine Juan Monaco, whom he trails 0-3 in the FedEx ATP Head2Head.

Monaco, a former Bastad finalist, dismissed Swiss qualifier Henri Laaksonen 6-4, 6-2 in one hour and 15 minutes to improve to a 17-14 season record. He won the clay-court title in Dusseldorf this past May.

Two-time champion and fourth seed Tommy Robredo, who has moved to within the Top 30 of the Emirates ATP Rankings after beginning the year outside the Top 100, suffered a surprise 6-3, 6-4 loss to Albert Ramos after failing to earn a break point against his fellow Spaniard.

In doubles, top seeds Robert Lindstedt and Daniel Nestor reached the quarer-finals with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Sergiy Stakhovsky and Viktor Troicki. Second seed David Marrero and Fernando Verdasco dropped serve just once in a 7-6(4), 6-3 win over Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Horacio Zeballos.
