Bob and Mike Bryan continued their assault on the ATP World Tour doubles circuit with a comprehensive 6-2, 6-4 victory over 2002 champion James Blake and Steve Johnson, in Cincinnati.

The three-time champions (2003, ‘08, ‘10) advanced to their eighth consecutive semi-final at the Western & Southern Open with the win. They are eyeing their fourth ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title of the year, having won in Indian Wells, Madrid and Rome.

The Bryans will face Santiago Gonzalez and Scott Lipsky in the semi-finals. The Mexican-American tandem upset Montreal champions Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares yesterday.

In other Friday action, two-time champion Leander Paes (2001 and 2011) and Radek Stepanek were ousted by Rohan Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-3, 6-7(3), 10-8 in a Match Tie-Break. Bopanna will be seeking his second consecutive Cincinnati final when he and Roger-Vasselin face the Spanish duo of Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez on Saturday. Granollers and Lopez, currently No. 3 in the Emirates ATP Doubles Team Rankings standings, dispatched Poles Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski 6-4, 6-2 in the quarter-finals.
