SERVING SUCCESS
– Nadal finished the US Open holding serve 95 of 99 games, saving 19 of 23 break points, including eight of 11 in the final. Since the ATP World Tour began keeping service stats in 1991, this is the fewest service breaks for a US Open champion. In 2010, Nadal was broken five times en route to his first US Open title.

SUMMER SWEEP TITLE WINNER – Nadal is the first player to win ATP Masters 1000 Montreal, Cincinnati and the US Open in the same season since Andy Roddick in 2003. Patrick Rafter also accomplished the feat in 1998 (Toronto).

TOP 10 WINS LEADER – Nadal improved to an ATP World Tour- 17-1 vs. Top 10 opponents this year. He’s defeated each of the eight Top 10 players he’s faced (has not played Murray). The last time Nadal posted 17 Top 10 wins was in 2008 when he finished No. 1.

RECLAIMING NO. 1 – In the history of the Emirates ATP Rankings (since 1973), only three players (Lendl, Federer and Nadal) have finished No. 1 after losing the top spot for one year. Nadal is trying to become the first player to finish No. 1 three years after his last year-end No. 1 ranking:
