Igor Sijsling will play fellow Dutchman Robin Haase in the Thailand Open second round.

Sijsling lost just two of his first service points in a 6-3, 7-6(2) victory over seventh seed Jarkko Nieminen in 74 minutes on Monday.

Haase, who reached his third ATP World Tour final at the Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad in July (l. to Youzhny), knocked out Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-2, 6-4 in 72 minutes.

In their only FedEx ATP Head2Head meeting, Sijsling beat Haase in three sets at the Heineken Open in January.

Sixth seed Feliciano Lopez earned his first win in Bangkok, after bowing out in the first round of his three previous visits. The Spaniard took 70 minutes for a 6-3, 6-3 win over 18-year-old Serbian wild card Laslo Djere, who was making his ATP World Tour debut.

In the final round of qualifying, Santiago Giraldo, Alejandro Falla, Go Soeda and Marco Chiudinelli earned main draw spots.
