ERSTE BANK OPEN 2013
Haas Takes In Vienna Sights
by ATP Staff|
Germany’s Tommy Haas visited Vienna's landmarks ahead of his participation in this week's Erste Bank Open. The World No. 12, along with his sister Sabine and nephew Moritz, took a horse-drawn carriage on a sightseeing tour of the Austrian capital on Tuesday.
"It's always a pleasure playing the tournament in Vienna. I enjoy spending time in this city. From the carriage you have a great view on all the monuments."
As a child, Haas lived in Vienna for nine months.
As the tournament’s second seed, Haas received a first-round bye and will play qualifier Miloslav Mecir. This year marks Haas' 11th appearance in Vienna, where the 35 year old has found previous success. He won the 2001 title (d. Canas) and finished as runner-up in 2000 (l. to Henman).
