London Bids End For Murray/Peers & Huey/Inglot In Paris Openers

Paris, France

Two doubles teams saw their chances of qualifying for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals come to an end on Tuesday at the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris.

Jamie Murray and John Peers, the winners of three ATP World Tour titles this year, who are in 10th position in the Emirates ATP Doubles Team Rankings, lost to fellow London contenders, 13th-placed Santiago Gonzalez and Scott Lipsky 6-4, 7-5 in 64 minutes.

Other first-round casualties, who were hoping to qualify for The O2 event in London from 4-11 November, were Sunday’s Swiss Indoors Basel titlists, Treat Huey and Dominic Inglot.

Italians Fabio Fognini and Andreas Seppi got the better of the 11th-positioned team in a 7-6(5), 6-3 first-round win over 71 minutes.

Elsewhere, Americans John Isner and Nicolas Monroe defeated Jonathan Marray and Igor Sijsling 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 in 56 minutes.
