Joined by Drewett’s family, fellow players and officials on Rod Laver Arena, Roger Federer remembered the former ATP Executive Chairman and President, who passed away last May at the age of 54 following a battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
“It’s an absolute honour to be here tonight with all the players, [Drewtt’s wife] Jo and the family to pay tribute to our friend Brad,” said the four-time Australian Open champion and ATP Player Council President.
“We remember him as a great man, great tennis player, great tournament director and a great CEO of the ATP. The ultimate compliment we can give Brad is that he left the game better off than when he arrived.”
Drewett’s daughter Ally and Tennis Australia President Steve Healy unveiled the bronze bust of the Sydney native, which will reside in Melbourne Park.
