Nickelodeon slimed British tennis champion Andy Murray as the sportsman accepted Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Award for UK History Maker. UK Awards host Jordan Banjo surprised Murray at a press conference to present him with the accolade in acknowledgement of an outstanding year and for being an inspiration to kids across the UK. Viewers can watch Murray get slimed on Sunday 30th March at 5:00pm on Nickelodeon.

Nickelodeon created the UK History Maker Award especially for Murray after 2013 saw him become the first British male in 77 years to win Wimbledon. Murray also triumphed at the 2013 Sony Open Tennis and completed a year of sporting glory by winning BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Murray’s previous sporting highlights include success at the 2012 London Olympics, when he won gold in the men’s singles and silver in the mixed doubles.

“I feel incredibly privileged to receive Nickelodeon’s UK History Maker Kids’ Choice Award at this year’s KCAs. Getting slimed is definitely the most outrageous award acceptance I’ve ever done; it was pretty good fun,” said Murray. “The support I received from a young age has been integral to my career and I hope this award will encourage kids across the UK and beyond to pursue their own aspirations.”

Kids from all over the globe have been voting for their favourite films, songs, sport and television stars and it will be down to host Mark Wahlberg and a roster of special guests including Chris Evans, Lea Michele and Kaley Cuoco to announce the winners at the 27th Annual Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.
