Treat Huey and Dominic Inglot won twice on Friday to claim the Aegon International doubles crown, including an upset of top seeds and defending champions Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares 7-5, 5-7, 10-8 in the final.
The Filipino-British pair claimed their third team title in 85 minutes. This was the duo's first appearance in a final this season.
"I’m so happy and so satisfied that we were able to win a tournament in my home country," Inglot told ATPWorldTour.com. "I’m absolutely thrilled. This is my best win by far. It’s important winning at home in front of my home crowd."
“Playing in any final is a great experience," added Huey. "The atmosphere was great, and to come through with a real tight win is a lot of fun.”
Peya and Soares were denied their second grass-court title of 2014 after claiming the Aegon Championships crown last week (d. Murray/Peers).
"They’re a really tricky team," said Inglot about their Austrlian-Brazilian opponents. "We’ve played them numerous times and we’ve pushed them to three sets but have never won. To come through on a final was really satisfying and a big confidence-booster going into Wimbledon."
Earlier on Friday, Inglot and Huey eliminated wild cards and home favourites Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins 7-6(2), 6-3 in the continuation of a semi-final that was suspended due to darkness on Thursday.
