Former World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt and golfer Brad Faxon, an eight-time champion on the PGA Tour, swapped some tricks of their trades on Saturday ahead of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport.

Just prior to the draw ceremony for the ATP World Tour 250 grass-court tennis tournament, Hewitt and Faxon played a tennis tie-break on the historic grass courts, which Hewitt won 7-6(3), followed by some chipping from the tall grass around the courts.

Faxon, a Rhode Island resident, is preparing to head off to the Senior US Open this week, while Hewitt will compete in the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, where he was the runner up the past two years.

The third-seeded Hewitt will face American Ryan Harrison in his opening match. John Isner is the top seed in Newport and assisted at Saturday’s draw ceremony with Tournament Director Mark Stenning, who is stepping down in 2014 after 35 years at the Hall of Fame.
