Kyrgios Trebles His Twitter Followers

Nick Kyrgios has become a social sensation.

The 19-year-old Australian started The Championships with a little more than 19,000 Twitter followers.

On Tuesday, he beat World No. 1 Rafael Nadal 7-6(5), 5-7, 7-6(5), 6-3 on Centre Court for a place in his first Grand Slam championship quarter-final.

Ahead of his match against Raonic, at midday the next day, Kyrgios had 60,900 Twitter followers.

His goal before the grass-court major had been 25,000 followers.

Following his victory over Nadal, Kyrgios tweeted:

Prior to his Grand Slam debut, at Australian Open in January, Kyrgios had 4,000 followers. Following his second-round exit to Benoit Paire that figure had risen to 14,000 followers.

Kyrgios' Facebook page has 47,534 likes.
