Rafael Nadal took home the ESPY Award for Best Male Tennis Player, beating out fellow nominees Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.

The 28-year-old Mallorcan, nominated in the category for a tenth straight year, won the award for the first time since 2011 and second time overall. Djokovic had been named Best Male Tennis Player the past two years.

"Very happy for this award!" Nadal tweeted. "Thanks to @ESPYS and to all of you for always supporting me."

Nadal was also nominated for Best International Athlete, alongside Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, women’s golfer Inbee Park and Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel. Ronaldo claimed the award.

World No. 9 Grigor Dimitrov attended the awards ceremony on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, accompanying girlfriend Maria Sharapova, who won Best Female Tennis Player.
