Fourth seeds Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo streaked into the Rogers Cup final, needing a mere 53 minutes to dispatch Marin Cilic and Santiago Gonzalez 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday in Toronto.

The Croatian-Brazilian tandem advanced to their second ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title match of the year, having fallen in the Monte-Carlo final to Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan. They are chasing a second such trophy following a title run at the Shanghai Rolex Masters last year (d. Marrero/Verdasco).

Cilic and Gonzalez, who relinquished just six games in a second-round upset of the top-seeded Bryans, were competing in their second tournament as a team. They reached the quarter-finals at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in May.

Dodig and Melo will face No. 2 seeds Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares, who defeated 2008 champions and third seeds Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic 6-4, 7-6(8) in one hour and 35 minutes.

Peya and Soares are bidding for a tenth team title. This season, they lifted the Queen's Club trophy ahead of Wimbledon and also finished as runners-up on five other occasions (Hamburg, Eastbourne, Indian Wells, Auckland, and Doha).

The Toronto doubles final will be shown live online on Sunday.
