Robby Ginepri is eyeing a strong Western & Southern Open campaign, having defeated rising star Dominic Thiem in the first round. The former US Open semi-finalist reveals the Last Time…

I shared a hotel room with another player
The French Open in 2010. I shared it with Travis Rettenmaier. We were actually the last two Americans in it. He was in the doubles Round of 16 and I was in the singles Round of 16 against (Novak) Djokovic.

I lost something important
I lost the keys to my car about a year ago.

I missed a flight
It’s probably been a good five or six years. I missed a flight sleeping through it but never actually getting to the airport and missing it.

I strung a racquet
When I was at least 16. I had a stringer at the house. My dad would string the mains and I would string the crosses. Now I don’t know how good it would come out but I could definitely get it to where I could play with it.

I went fishing
Last year. Down in Florida. I used to fish more back in the day.

I slipped on my diet
Every week. I eat well six days and then if I want a slice of pizza or some fries or some candy, I’ll go for it.

I visited a country for the first time
Maybe it was Holland for ‘s-Hertogenbosch (Topshelf Open).
