Sam Querrey threw out the first pitch at Citi Field before the New York Mets took on the Atlanta Braves Tuesday.

It was the first time the American had thrown out a first pitch in a Major League Baseball game.

"I've always wanted to throw out a first pitch and it was a lot of fun," said Querrey. "Next time when I have a chance I want to throw a knuckle ball."

Earlier in the day, Querrey hit 30 aces in a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Maximo Gonzalez at the US Open. He will next play Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the second round.
