Charities and Causes

The Mardy Fish Foundation mission is to provide children access to after school exercise, nutritional and enrichment programs in a safe environment to prepare them for healthy, productive and successful lives so they can achieve their dreams. Since its establishment in 2006, the Mardy Fish Foundation has opened after school programmes in 13 elementary schools, benefitting more than 2,000 students in Indian River County. The programmes provide a place for children to go and partake in various activities that will help them better themselves using sports, music, art, and dance.

"What makes me most happy is that I can take my success as a tennis player and turn it into something special to help the kids of Indian River County through Mardy Fish Foundation initiatives,” said the American. “Whether it’s athletics, music, the arts, or other learning skills, every child can benefit from being exposed to new interests."

Highlights

The Mardy Fish Foundation has utilised funds from Mardy's Tennis & Jake's Music Fest to provide after school programmes in the Indian River County community. The Foundation opened the Pelican Island Elementary School/Mardy Fish Music Club and Health & Fitness Club September 11, 2007. These were after school programmes that provided a place for children to go and partake in various activities to improve themselves through sports, music, art, and dance.

The Mardy Fish Foundation has now successfully expanded to all 13 elementary schools in Indian River Schools with the addition of numerous programs including, but not limited, to Dance, Music, Sports, Cheerleading, Karate,  Health  & Fitness.

In 2012, Fish and his family held the Mardy Fish Foundation Annual Fundraiser at Windsor Golf Club in Wabasso Beach. The golfing event replaced Fish' annual tennis exhibition which has previously been supported by Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, John Isner, Serena Williams and the Bryan Brothers.

The 2012 fundraiser had two goals:

1. Communicate the mission to the community

2. Launch Mardy's Six Healthy Habits - Get Sleep, Drink Water, Eat Healthy, Daily Exercise, Brush & Floss, Friendship

In 2012 the Mardy Fish Foundation received a $10,000 grant from ATP ACES for Charity.
