Charities and Causes

Milos Raonic launched his Foundation at the close of 2012. It has the mission statement: To support children from disadvantaged backgrounds in order to remove economic, physical and other barriers that might prevent them from becoming healthy, productive members of society.

The Milos Raonic Foundation will harness resources in support of disadvantaged children. In particular, the foundation will support initiatives intended to reduce economic, physical and other barriers that might prevent the full integration of all children in the lives of their communities.

In this stage of its work, The Milos Raonic Foundation will focus on children with physical disabilities and, especially, children in need of prosthetic devices that will enable them to reach their full potential.

“I’m very excited and honoured to be able to launch my foundation this year,” said Raonic. “To have the opportunity to allow my foundation to grow and establish itself along with my tennis career is a true honour and privilege for me. I will enjoy the support and help I can provide for many years.”

The foundation hosted its second fundraising event - Raonic Race for Kids - in conjunction with Tennis Canada’s “Let’s Make Tennis Matter for Kids” campaign, on Tuesday, November 19 in Toronto. The event raised $120,000 and saw 12 teams take part in a series of 12 two-minute challenges, ranging from ping pong to mini-putting to kids tennis. Celebrity supporters included: WTA rising star Eugenie Bouchard, Blue Jay Kelly Gruber, Blue Rodeo frontman Jim Cuddy, doubles star Daniel Nestor, former beach volleyball player Martin Reader, Breakfast Television personality Jennifer Valentyne, world champion figure skater Kurt Browning, and former Argo Adriano Belli. The inaugural fundraiser, one year earlier, had seen Nestor, Serena Williams and Andy Roddick also participate in the festivities.
