Charities and Causes

The tournament and their title sponsor, BB&T, support the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta to help promote tennis in the region and, to ensure an outreach to a diverse audience. One of the group’s primary tennis outreach efforts is the Georgia Tennis Foundation, which they partnered with in 2002. Over the course of the last ten years the Georgia Tennis Foundation has supported 12 YMCA branches in the Atlanta region, and has introduced 56,000 more children to tennis.

Highlights

The YMCA groups aim to strengthen children, their families and their communities, focusing on academic achievement in school, and a healthy living lifestyle, promoted through sport. The YMCA Metropolitan Atlanta has a total of 43 tennis courts, located at eight branch sites, most of which offer tennis lessons and run mini-leagues.
