Parents are Swedish and they have lived in Australia for over 30 years...Father, Karl, is a financial advisor; mother, Birgit, teaches several languages (Swedish, French and German)...Has two older sisters, Ingela and Veronika...Speaks Swedish and English...Cousin Nicklas Kulti is a former ATP pro who won three singles and 13 doubles titles in his career... Played collegiately from 1996-2000 at Auburn University in Alabama where he earned a degree in exercise science with a minor in psychology...Earned All-American honors in doubles in 1998 and in singles in 2000, while playing in NCAA tournament in both of those years...Captured 1999 National Clay Court doubles title (w/Tiago Ruffoni) and his 93 career doubles victories is a school record...Enjoys playing golf and has a seven handicap...Coached by Peter Lumsden.

1999 -- Played doubles at three Futures events, winning three titles...Won back-to-back titles at German Futures in July (w/Pearson)...Also finalist at a Futures event in Belgium... 

2000 -- Reached singles 2nd RD at Nafplio, Greece, Futures...Won five titles in eight finals and posted a 30-5 Futures record...

2001 -- Made Grand Slam debut with a wild card at Australian Open w/Perry (l. to Bjorkman-Woodbridge)...Reached first ATP World Tour SF in Tokyo (w/Pearson)...Claimed first Challenger title in Perth (w/Pearson)...Also won titles in Tampere and Tyler...Finalist at three other Challengers...Claimed one Futures title...Had records of 30-15 in Challengers and 7-4 in Futures...

2002 -- Claimed first ATP World Tour title in Casablanca (w/Wakefield)...Played all four Grand Slams for the first time, reaching 2nd RD at Roland Garros (w/Wakefield)...Reached QF at ATP events in Marseille and Acapulco...Made ATP World Tour Masters 1000 debut in Miami and reached 2nd RD (w/Adams)...Claimed Challenger titles in Brest and Wroclaw (w/Ellwood)...Compiled a 19-12 record in Challengers...

2003 -- Made only career singles Challenger appearance at New Caledonia...Only ATP win of the season came in Copenhagen (w/Arthurs)...Claimed four Challenger titles in six finals...Had a 32-16 record in Challengers...

2004 -- Reached Wimbledon 2nd RD (w/Lindstedt)...Also reached SF at Newport (w/Fisher)...Reached QF at Beijing (w/Lindstedt)...Finalist at Challengers in Canberra (w/Luczak) and Bermuda (w/Fisher)...

2005 -- The Aussie had a breakthrough season, winning the Wimbledon doubles title as a qualifier (w/Moodie) to earn a spot in Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai... He and Moodie became first team to win Wimbledon title after qualifying into tournament... Defeated five seeds en route to title - Bhupathi-Woodbridge, Cermak-Friedl and Knowles-Llodra in straight sets to reach SF... Came from one set down to defeat Bjorkman-Mirnyi in SF then defeated Bryan-Bryan 7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-3 in final... At Tennis Masters Cup, went 1-2 in round robin play... Injured his right knee in final match against Llodra-Santoro and retired...Teamed with Moodie for first time to open the season and claimed New Caledonia Challenger title (d. Golmard-Levy)...In February, reached back-to-back Challenger SF in Dallas (w/Niemeyer) and Joplin (w/Landsberg)... Later in the spring, reached SF in Tallahassee (w/Merklein) and at Tunica Resorts (w/Niemeyer)... In May, won title at Budapest Challenger (w/Landsberg)... 2006 -- His best results during the season were semifinals in Houston (w/Fishe), Casablanca (w/Phillips), Nottingham and St. Petersburg (w/Moodie)...Returned as defending champions at Wimbledon and reached 3rd RD (w/Moodie)...

2007 -- Reached two ATP World Tour finals, in Delray Beach (w/Auckland) and Tokyo (w/Dancevic)...In Challenger level play, won title at Kuala Lumpur (w/Moodie) and reached finals in Surbiton (w/Auckland) and Nashville (w/Fisher)...

2008 -- Turned in strong finish by compiling a 10-2 record in last month of action, winning third ATP World Tour title in Beijing (w/Hutchins) without dropping a set, and then reaching back-to-back finals in Moscow and Lyon (w/Hutchins)...Earlier on, advanced to SF in Delray Beach (w/Kuznetsov) and Munich (w/Allegro)...Also won title at Tulsa Challenger (w/Fisher)...Finished No. 44, his second Top 50 year-end ranking...

2009

The Aussie turned in his best results in first half of season, reaching his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 final in Miami (w/Fisher) in April, losing to Mirnyi-Ram in Match Tie-break...In February, advanced to back-to-back SF in San Jose and Marseille (w/Hutchins).
