in 1987 World Group playoff to help Germany to a 3-2 win over the U.S. In
1988 Davis Cup play he compiled a 3-0 match record in singles, 4-0 in doubles
helping Germany to a 4-1 final win over Sweden.
Won the West German 16-under indoor title in 1981.

Upset 1985 Wimbledon finalist Kevin Curren in the first round of the '86
Championships en route to the fourth round (RD 16).
Hobbies include listening to music, playing golf and skiing.
Earned a career-high $261,444 and finished No. 47 on the ATP computer
in 1989 while compiling a 22-14 match record. It was his fourth straight
top 100 finish (No. 76 in 1988, 40 in '87, 31 in '86).
