Member, Jr. Davis Cup team, 1963-65. NCAA All-American at Rice University, 1967-68. Runner-up 1968 NCAA singles championships. Head tennis coach at Columbis University, 1970-79. Players coached at Columbia who later joined the pro tour include Vitas Gerulaitis, Henry Bunis, Rick Fagel, Eric Fromm and John Molin. Coached Columbia to the Ivy League Championships in 1972, 73.

Member US Junior Davis Cup Team 4X; National Junior Runner up to Cliff Richey; Semi Finalist 2X to Cliff Richey and Stan Smith; Winner of US Junior (Allan Stowe) Sportsmanship Award… Collegiate- 2 Time All American Rice University; Member 1968 NCAA Team Championship - Runner-up… Winner 1969 US Amateur National Championships.  Turned Pro 1970… Competed Wimbledon 5X, plus ATP Member that boycotted in 1973; Competed US Open 11X; French Open 2X… Winner American Express Waterville Valley Open 1976… Finished First Place American Express Eastern Challengers Circuit 1976…  Played # 1 singles for US World Champion Italia Cup - 35 and over Team… Former tennis director of New York East River Tennis Club, Murray Hill Racquet Club, Westhampton Racquet Club, Tam O’Shanter Country Club, and Pine Hollow Country Club.  Currently owner and creator of Children's Athletic Training School and Butch Seewagen Tennis Academy in New York training children in sports fundamentals.  USPTA member and son of George Seewagen, former USPTA President and Coach of St. John’s University for 49 years.  Partner with sister, Barbara in Children's Athletic Training School and married to Christine, former varsity player for George Washington University and a USPTA Professional.  Son, Chad was born in 1979… Besides working for CATS, I coach privately at my house in Old Westbury, New York and enjoy collecting tennis antiques and art work.
