Full name is Olivier Laurent Pierre Rochus...Nicknamed "Olli"...Began playing tennis at age six along with his older brother Christophe who plays on the ATP World Tour...Has one younger brother, Pierre...His future ambition is to win Davis Cup title with his brother, whom he considers his best friend on circuit...Father, Jean-Paul, is a doctor; mother, Anne, is a dentist...Favorite player growing up was Pete Sampras...Ambition as a child was "to be tall".

Advanced to junior SF at Roland Garros and Wimbledon in 1997...Won Wimbledon junior doubles title (w/Federer) in 1998...Finished No. 11 in junior rankings in 1997 and No. 19 following year...Also played table tennis and handball as a youngster...Considers backhand and return as strengths and favorite surface is hard courts...First represented Belgium in Davis Cup in 2000...ATP Newcomer of Year in 2000...Elected to ATP Player Council in June 2006...Fitness trainer is Patrick Meur.

2012 -- The Belgian had 2nd straight Top 100 season (9 in 11 years), highlighted by a runner-up finish in opening month of season in Auckland (l. to No. 5 Ferrer)...Also QF in Memphis (l. to Raonic) in February and won lone Grand Slam match at Australian Open (d. Phau, l. to Berdych)...Went 13-8 in Challengers with SF at Le Gosier, Guadeloupe and on home soil in Mons...Compiled records of 8-12 on hard, 2-5 on grass and 0-6 on clay. 2011 -- The No. 2 Belgian (behind No. 49 Malisse) returned to Top 100 by reaching his 9th career ATP World Tour final in Newport (l. to Isner) for 2nd year in a row…Also reached QF on grass in Eastbourne (l. to Seppi) in June...Compiled a 13-7 mark in Challenger events, winning title in Le Gosier in March (d. Robert) and reaching final in Rennes (l. to Benneteau) in October...Went 0-3 vs. Top 10 opponents and compiled marks of 7-3 on grass, 4-8 on hard and 2-5 on clay...

2010 -- The Belgian compiled an 8-16 match record through the first six months of the season, highlighted by a QF run at Nice (l. to Gasquet); beat No. 8 Soderling for 13th Top 10 win…Lost in five sets in the first round at Wimbledon against No. 3 Djokovic, it was the latest-ever finish (10:59pm) at Wimbledon and concluded under the roof and lights on Centre Court…Three weeks later he reached his eighth ATP World Tour final in Newport without dropping a set, before finishing runner-up to Mardy Fish…He was the first Belgian player in tournament history to contest the championship match…“Mardy was pushing hard at the end and his serve was really good, so maybe he deserved it a little more”...Made a US Open 1st RD exit (l. to Tipsarevic)…In September, represented Belgium in Davis Cup World Group play-off win versus Australia in Cairns…

2009 -- The top Belgian on ATP World Tour finished in Top 75 highlighted by 26-13 record in Challenger play with title at Manchester (d. Sijsling) in July and runner-up at Zagreb (l. to Daniel) in May and Cordenons (l. to Luczak) in August…In ATP World Tour play, reached SF in Halle (as a qualifier), falling to No. 4 Djokovic…One month later, reached SF in Newport (l. to eventual champ R. Ram)…In October he advanced to his seventh career ATP World Tour final in Stockholm, losing to Baghdatis…Compiled marks of 6-2 on grass, 6-5 on hard and 2-2 on clay.

2008 -- Finished out of Top 100 for first time since 2001...After 1-4 start to season, reached QF at Zagreb (l. to Bolelli)...Followed with 2nd RD at Dubai and AMS Indian Wells (l. to Ferrer at both)...Qualified and reached 2nd RD at AMS clay events at Monte Carlo (l. to Nalbandian) and Hamburg (l. to Moya)...Also 2nd RD showings at Poertschach, Wimbledon, Bastad and New Haven...At Beijing Olympics, defeated Minar and Tipsarevic before losing to eventual silver medalist Gonzalez in 3rd RD...In doubles, finished runner-up at Kitzbuhel (w/Arnold Ker)...Underwent right shoulder surgery on Oct. 30.

2007 -- Finished in Top 75 for sixth straight year highlighted by an ATP final appearance and four QF -- Doha, Dubai (d. No. 4 Davydenko, l. to Haas), Bastad and Lyon...Also won a Challenger title...In February, helped his country to a 1st RD Davis Cup victory over Australia with four-sets win over Guccione (l. to Hewitt)...In September, repeated Orleans (France) Challenger title (d. Mahut) and followed with runner-up in Mumbai ATP stop (l. to Gasquet)...Compiled marks of 13-11 on hard, 4-11 on clay...Surpassed $3 million in career earnings...
