Full name is Wesley Arthur Moodie...Nicknamed “Wes”...Began playing tennis at age six...Father, Tony, is a professor; mother, Margaret, is an administrator at Natal University in Durban...Has two older brothers, Keith, who is a graphic designer in London, and Brian, who is a minister in South Africa...Looked up to Stefan Edberg while growing up...Likes going to beach and playing guitar...Enjoys watching international cricket and rugby.

Most memorable experience was winning Wimbledon doubles title (w/Huss) in 2005...Likes to play on grass and indoors...Played two years at Auburn-Montgomery in Alabama from 1997-98 before transferring to Boise State University in Idaho where he played for two years from 1999-2000...Received Associate of Arts degree...Earned collegiate All-American honors all four years of college...Led Boise State to Big West conference title and finished No. 4 in doubles rankings in 1999 as a junior and reached NCAA semifinals...Inducted into Boise State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007...At Auburn-Montgomery he finished at No. 12 in singles and No. 8 in doubles in 1998...Has a 17-6 career record (14-5 in singles) in 13 Davis Cup ties since 2002...Considers serve and volley best part of his game...Wife, Marcia (married Dec. 6, 2003); daughter, Danica Jade (born Nov. 30, 2006).

2000 -- Claimed a pair of Futures titles. 

2001 -- Played qualifying rounds at Australian Open and Wimbledon. 

2002 -- Made ATP debut in Nottingham after qualifying for first time, losing in 1st RD. Reached final at Surbiton Challenger. Won first Davis Cup match in tie against Hungary.

2003 -- Finished in Top 100 for first time. Reached 3rd RD at Wimbledon in first Grand Slam event (d. Rosset and Niemeyer, l. to Grosjean). Won AMS debut at Cincinnati (d. Grosjean). Also won US Open debut. Reached 3rd RD at Indianapolis with victories over Delgado and Vahaly (l. to Thomann). Was 4-2 in Davis Cup action. Won Challenger titles in Wrexham and Surbiton. Had 17-6 Challenger record.  In doubles, reached SF in Costa do Sauipe (w/Prieto) and Bangkok (w/Carraz). 

2004 -- Reached first career ATP QF at Los Angeles (d. Fleishman and Schalken, l. to Morrison). Posted a 3-1 Davis Cup record. Finalist at three Challenger events. Was 19-10 in Challengers. In doubles, reached SF in Scottsdale (w/Kiefer) and QF at Queen's Club (w/de Voest).

2005 -- Won his first career singles title and reached a career-high ranking of No. 57...Reached first career SF at Delray Beach (l. to Novak) in his first ATP tournament of year... Split Davis Cup matches in March against Germany, losing to Kiefer in five sets before defeating Haas 10-8 in fifth...Also reached SF at Newport (l. to Rusedski)... Claimed first career title in October in Tokyo, defeating Stepanek in QF, Nieminen in SF and Ancic in final... Saved four match points in SF against Nieminen and two in second set TB against Ancic in final...In doubles, teamed with Huss at Wimbledon and became first team to win title after qualifying into tournament... Defeated Bhupathi-Woodbridge, Cermak-Friedl and Knowles-Llodra in straight sets to reach SF... Came from one set down to defeat Bjorkman-Mirnyi in SF then defeated Bryan-Bryan 7-6(4), 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-3 in final... At Tennis Masters Cup, went 1-2 in round robin play... Also New Caledonia Challenger title (w/Huss)... Reached Busan Challenger final (w/Gimelstob) and ATP final at Basel (w/Huss)... Finished at No. 12 in ATP Doubles Race (w/Huss) and No. 24 individually... Earned a career-high $538,489...

2006 -- No. 1 South African compiled a double-figure win total for the third time in four years while finishing at No. 125...Opened season by reaching the 2nd RD in Doha (l. to Monfils) and the Australian Open (l. to Roddick)...After Melbourne, lost in 1st RD at 10 straight ATP events...During that time, did go 2-0 in Davis Cup tie against Georgia, including a 13-11 in the fifth win over Labadze...Also reached final of Surbiton Challenger (l. to Fish)...Got back on winning track with run to QF at Washington, D.C. (l. to Safin)...Posted career-best US Open result by reaching 3rd RD, defeating Mirnyi and Monfils before falling to Nadal...Reached QF in St. Petersburg, a run which included a win over No. 6 Davydenko, his second career Top 10 win and first since 2003...Was 11-14 in tie-breaks...Doubles finalist at Delray Beach (w/Haggard)...Reached 3rd RD at Australian Open (w/Bhupathi) and Wimbledon (w/Huss)...Reached doubles SF at three events...

2007 -- Compiled a 17-11 record in doubles with ATP titles in Adelaide and Valencia (w/Perry)...Also winner at Kuala Lumpur (w/Huss) and New Delhi (w/DeVoest) Challengers...In singles, advanced to SF in Newport (l. to eventual champ Santoro) and at Cardiff and Kuala Lumpur Challengers.

2008 -- The South African compiled his career best doubles campaign, finishing No. 6 in ATP Doubles Race (w/Coetzee) and qualifying for second Tennis Masters Cup, going 1-2 in round robin play...Opened year with final in Doha (l. to Kohlschreiber-Skoch) and SF at Australian Open (l. to Clement-Llodra)...Reached SF at AMS Miami and Monte Carlo and in between claimed first team title at Estoril (d. J. Murray-Ullyett)...Sidelined with a knee injury for three summer months...Returned in October with SF in Stockholm and AMS Madrid to go with runner-up at AMS Paris (l. to Bjorkman-Ullyett) to clinch their Shanghai berth...Finished No. 14 in doubles rankings.

2009

The South African teamed with Norman for first year to finish No. 9 in ATP Team Rankings...Reached Final in third tournament together at Roland Garros, (d. Bryans in SF, l. to Dlouhy-Paes)…Won title in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (d. Brunstrom-Rojer) and reaching SF at Wimbledon with back-to-back marathon wins over Pavel-Tecau (14-12 in fifth) in 3rd Rd. and Bhupathi-Knowles in QF (6-4 in fifth) before losing to Bryans in straight sets…Reached QFs in five of next six tournaments, including at US Open…Finished No. 10 individually in doubles.
