John played collegiately at Pepperdine where he was a two-time All-
America selection (1982 and 1983), and majored in broadcasting and drama.
He was a member of the USTA Junior Davis Cup team.
He was a Quarterfinalist at 1983 Newport and won the Thailand Satellite
Circuit.
In 1984 he won the Auckland Doubles title with Brian Levine.
In April of 1984 John and Joseph Heldmann were killed in an auto
accident while driving from Mexico City to a Challenger tournament at San
Luis Potosi.
