Finished as the No. 3 junior in the world in 1997, behind Arnaud DiPasquale and Daniel Elsner...Captured Wimbledon junior title that year and runner-up at Australian Open (l. to Elsner) and US Open (l. to DiPasquale) juniors...After an outstanding junior career, was plagued by on and off injuries...Suffered hip and right knee patella tendinitis injuries during the 2000 season and underwent left wrist surgery to repair cartilage in March 2003...Hobbies include collecting movies, playing golf and watching pro wrestling...Resides and trains in the U.S. in Phoenix with coach Mike Van Zuphten (since July 2005) and fitness trainer is Paul Reynolds.
