The Best Of Men's & Women's Tennis
Formerly the International Women's Open, Britain's biggest international women's event joined forces with the ATP World Tour to host a combined men's and women's tournament in 2009. In past years the men's ATP World Tour event had been played in Nottingham. Italy's Andreas Seppi won his first ATP World Tour title at the AEGON International in 2011 with victory over Janko Tipsarevic.

Fourth Time Unlucky - Janko Tipsarevic slipped to a 0-4 record in ATP World Tour finals. The Serbian also finished runner-up at 2009 Moscow, 2010 's-Hertogenbosch and 2011 Delray Beach.

Seeds Exodus - Six of the seven seeds at the AEGON International fell in the first two rounds, including defeat for No. 2 Alexandr Dolgopolov in the first round against Carlos Berlocq. No. 3 Tipsarevic reached the final.

Top Seed Ousted - Fresh from a runner-up finish on grass at The Queen's Club, top seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was dumped out in the second round by Radek Stepanek, who went on to lose to Kei Nishikori in the QFs.

Seppi Claims First Title
In a battle between players bidding for their first ATP World Tour title, World No. 51 Andreas Seppi came out on top at the AEGON International in Eastbourne, defeating No. 3 seed Janko Tipsarevic 7-6(5), 3-6, 5-3 after the Serbian retired late in the match with a right hip injury. "It's for sure a special moment for me," said Seppi. "I didn't expect to win my first title on grass, but I really enjoy playing on this surface."
