Kuala Lumpur Begins With A Bang
The ATP World Tour’s Asian swing begins in Southeast Asia at the Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur, welcoming the best men's tennis players. The ATP World Tour 250 tennis tournament, officially launched by Malaysian Prime Minister Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak in 2009, is held indoors at the 16,000-seat Putra Stadium.

Benneteau Loses Out - Benneteau fell to 0-7 in ATP World Tour finals. He had been trying to become the first player aged 30 plus to capture his first title since Wayne Arthurs (33) won in Scottsdale in March 2005.

Nishikori Reaches SFs Again - Kei Nishikori, who launched the ATP World Tour Asian Swing in Singapore, reached the semi-finals for the second straight year. He squandered one match point against Juan Monaco.

Ferrer Maintains Form - World No. 5 David Ferrer lost in the semi-finals on his third appearance in Kuala Lumpur. The Spaniard was a semi-finalist on his last visit in 2010 (l. to Golubev).

Juan Monaco stepped up his bid to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals with victory in the Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur final. Second seed Monaco defeated seventh seed Julien Benneteau 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in just over three hours to lift his fourth ATP World Tour title of the year. Read Match Report
