Kremlin Cup A Treasure For Russians
Played indoors in Russia's bustling and chilly capital of Moscow in October, the Kremlin Cup became the country's first pro international tennis tournament when it was founded in 1990. Russian players have dominated the event, winning 14 of the 21 titles, with Yevgeny Kafelnikov winning a record five consecutive titles between 1997-2001. In 2011, Janko Tipsarevic defeated Viktor Troicki in the first-ever all-Serbian final on the ATP World Tour.

Troicki Falls At Final Hurdle - Second seed Viktor Troicki was bidding to retain the title he had won a year earlier with victory over Marcos Baghdatis. The Serbian slipped to a 1-4 mark in ATP World Tour finals.

Davydenko Denied - Three-time former champion Nikolay Davydenko was beaten in the semi-finals by eventual winner Tipsarevic. The Russian dropped to a 19-6 event record, with titles in 2004, 2006-2007.

Chardy Finds Form - French qualifier Jeremy Chardy came into the Kremlin Cup having won only six tour-level matches all season, but found his form to reach his first ATP World Tour semi-final since July 2009.

Tipsarevic Wins All-Serbian Final
World No. 14 Janko Tipsarevic lifted his second ATP World Tour trophy of the season at the Kremlin Cup, defeating reigning Moscow champion Viktor Troicki 6-4, 6-2 in the first all-Serbian final on the ATP World Tour. "It was really tough," Tipsarevic said. "We were both tight. You could cut the tension with a knife. It was like a nightmare to play against your friend."
