Defending Champ Beaten - Home favourite Tommy Haas saw his title defence end in the semi-finals against Klizan. "Tried my best today but wasn't nearly enough," tweeted Haas.

Struff's Good Run - German qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff reached his second ATP World Tour semi-final after beating sixth seed Feliciano Lopez in the first round. His run ended against Fabio Fognini.

Klizan Lifts Munich Crown 
Martin Klizan battled hard to capture his second ATP World Tour title with the 50th match win of his career. World No. 111 Klizan broke a three-match losing streak against No. 15-ranked Fabio Fognini in a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory.  Afterwards, tournament organisers presented him with a white BMW 420d Convertible car.
