Second seed and wild card entry Fernando Verdasco earned his first ATP World Tour title of the year, after beating sixth seed Sam Querrey, the US Open Series winner, 6-4, 7-6(6) in the final. The 25-year-old Madrid native is the seventh different Spaniard to win on the ATP World Tour this season (5-Nadal, 2-Robredo, 1-Almagro, Ferrero, Garcia-Lopez, Montanes).
