Federer Runner-Up Again - Roger Federer finished runner-up in Rome for the third time - also in 2003 (l. to Mantilla) and 2006 (l. to Nadal). He dropped to 21-13 in ATP World Tour Masters 1000 finals.
Berdych
Berdych Posts Best Run - Tomas Berdych beat Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals, but fell to Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals. He was hoping to become the first Czech titlist since 1988.
 Benoit Paire
Paire's Breakthrough - Benoit Paire reached his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 semi-final (l. to Federer). He earned his first Top 10 win (1-11) over Juan Martin del Potro in the third round.

Nadal 

Nadal Wins Seventh Rome Title 
Fifth seed Rafael Nadal won the Internazionali BNL d'Italia for the seventh time with a 6-1, 6-3 win over second seed Roger Federer in the final. It was his 24th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 crown and his 41st on clay. He also won the Rome title in 2005-’07, 2009-10 and 2012.
