Djokovic Beaten - On his return to action since winning Wimbledon and getting married, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic was beaten in the third round by eventual champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
 Raonic
Home Hope - Milos Raonic could not match his 2013 runner-up showing, falling in the quarter-finals to Feliciano Lopez. The Toronto native was bidding to win his first Masters 1000 title.

Tsonga Triumphs 
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga completed a dream week at the Rogers Cup, winning his second ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title with a 7-5, 7-6(3) defeat of No. 2 seed Roger Federer. Tsonga becomes the first Frenchman to triumph on Canadian soil, claiming his 11th tour-level crown.
