Granollers Breaks Through - Spain’s Marcel Granollers broke the Top 20 for the first time after finishing runner-up in Umag (l. to Monaco). He dropped to a 3-2 record in ATP World Tour finals.

Dolgo Falls Short - Third seed Alexandr Dolgopolov saw his title defence come to an end with defeat to Marin Cilic in the semi-finals. The Ukrainian had beaten Cilic in the final a year earlier.

All-Spanish SF - Marcel Granollers prevailed in an all-Spanish semi-final with top seed Fernando Verdasco. Verdasco has a 6-1 tournament record, having won title title in 2008 with victory over Igor Andreev.

Cilic Triumphs At Home
Second seed Marin Cilic captured his second crown of the season, dismissing No. 4 seed Marcel Granollers 6-4, 6-2 to become the first home winner in Umag since 1990. He did not drop a set during his title run. “It’s a real privilege to be among these champions,” Cilic said.
