Nardi breaks the Top 100 following Djokovic win, Mover of Week

The first ATP Masters 1000 event of the season resulted in Carlos Alcaraz being crowned champion at the BNP Paribas Open for the second-straight year. ATPTour.com looks at the movers in the PIF ATP Rankings as of Monday, 18 March.

No. 96 Luca Nardi, +27 (Career High)
The Italian has climbed into the Top 100 of the PIF ATP Rankings for the first time after he soared to the third round in Indian Wells. Nardi, who competed at last year's Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF, stunned World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the second round to become the lowest-ranked player to defeat the Serbian at ATP Masters 1000 or Grand Slam level. Lucky loser Nardi also beat Zhang Zhizhen in California but fell to Tommy Paul.

No. 5 Alexander Zverev, +1
The 26-year-old is back inside the Top 5 for the first time since October 2022. Zverev defeated Alex de Minaur in a three-set epic in the fourth round before he lost to eventual champion Alcaraz in the quarter-finals. The German heads to Miami 14-5 on the season.

No. 8 Casper Ruud, +1
Ruud continued his good form in Indian Wells, where he advanced to the last eight. The Norwegian reached consecutive tour-level finals in Los Cabos and Acapulco before arriving in California. He beat Frenchmen Arthur Fils and Gael Monfils at the Masters 1000 hard-court event.

No. 14 Tommy Paul, +3
The American produced some of his best tennis on home soil in Indian Wells, where he reached his second Masters 1000 semi-final. Paul, who won his second tour-level title in Dallas in February, earned impressive wins against Alex Michelsen, Ugo Humbert, Nardi and Ruud. He then took the first set against Daniil Medvedev but the World No. 4 roared back to ensure Paul’s wait for a maiden Masters 1000 final goes on.

No. 27 Jiri Lehecka, +5
Another week, another impressive showing from Czech Lehecka. The former Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF finalist dispatched Andrey Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals at a Masters 1000 event for the first time. Earlier this season he won his first tour-level crown in Adelaide.
