    Reached his first career final at his native Tel Aviv in October 1989,
    losing to Jimmy Connors in three sets. Finished the year at No. 105, a year-
    end best (from 210 in '88).
    Broke the top 100 (at 100) for the first time on January 8, 1990 follow
    ing his quarterfinal effort at Wellington, New Zealand.
    Later that year reached the 4th round at the US Open and a career best ATP ranking of 61. A 3-time singles champion and 2-time doubles champion in his native Israel, he played Davis Cup for Israel for 11 years and represented Israel at both the Seoul (1988) and Barcelona (1992) Olympics.
