  • Played at Southern Methodist University where he received All-America honors in 1977, 1979 and 1980. Won the Southwest Conference singles title in 1979. Graduated from SMU with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Was a Doubles Quarterfinalist at the 1980 NCAAs. Ranked No. 2 by the USTA in 1974 in Boys 16s, #5 in 1975 in Boys 18s and No. 6 in Boys 18s in 1976, the year he was the Australian Open Junior Champion. Was the No. 1 ranked junior in Texas in 1974 and 1975. Following his professional career, he was the women's tennis coach at SMU and Chris Evert's traveling coach. Has been a National Coach for the USTA since 1992.
