Year-by-Year Highlights:
Began playing tennis at age eight. "I was watching it on TV one day and
it looked fun, so then I just started playing. My mother wanted me to swim,
play golf and play tennis and tennis was the one I liked the best and was
good at," he said. The only child of parents Danny and Melva.
Member of the Australian under-18 touring team in 1992 and competed in
nine tournaments, including the Italian Open, French Open and Wimbledon. Won
the Wimbledon Junior doubles title (w/Draper) and won three other junior
doubles titles with Draper in '92.Also a doubles SF at the Aust. Open Juniors
To win the Wimbledon title, the Aussie duo had to play their QF, SF and
final matches all on the same day.
Finished No. 3 in the world in junior doubles rankings in 1992.
Completed senior year in high school at St. Ingnatius with straight A's.
