    • Nickname is ZZZ. "My full name is too hard for people to say, so I just tell them to say whatever they want to call me and I will respond," says Zhang. "Then it became ZZZbecause there are three Zs in my name. It is much easier for people outside of China to say. And it sounds cool. Triple-Z. I also like to sleep, so 'ZZZ' is perfect."

    • Started playing tennis at age 4 because he was quite small and his father didn’t want him to be a soccer player.

    • Became first Chinese player in Pepperstone ATP Rankings history to breakinto the Top 100 in October 2022.
    • At 2023 Madridbecame the 1st Chinese player to reach the quarter-finals of an ATP Masters 1000 event (d. No. 13 Norrie in 3R, No. 10 Fritz in 4R, l. to Karatsev). In July 2023, achieved career-high No. 52 after 1st ATP Tour QF on grass in Eastbourne.
    • Qualified at 2021 Wimbledon, becoming 1st Chinese man to compete in main draw of that event in Open Era.
    • Also qualified at 2022 US Open, joining fellow qualifier Wu as 1st Chinese men to compete in main draw of that event in Open Era.
    • Advanced to ATP Tour QFs at 2017 Shenzhen as Q and 2022 Naples as Q.
    • Owns 81-66Challenger record (3-3 in finals), capturing most recent title at 2022 Cordenons.
