Played Wembley seven times, losing in the 1967 final to Rod Laver. Roland Garros champion in 1972 (d. Patrick Proisy) and doubles runner-up (w/J. Arilla). Personal: Following his retirement from the circuit in 1973, started the Andres Gimeno Tennis Club in Barcelona...Coached for the Spanish Federation during the 1970's and for the Swiss Federation in the early 1980's...Has commentated on televised tennis matches for T.V.E. for two decades...Published first book, "Master en Tenis"...Enjoys golf (8 handicap) and is Vice President of the Cugat Golf Club in Barcelona...currently involved in real estate...Wife Cristina and children, Andres, Cristina and Alejo.
