2008 - In August, won an ATP Challenger Tour doubles title (w/Goodall) at New Dehli (d. Iwami-Kondo)...
2009 - In May, as No. 271 became the first British player since Tim Henman in 1995 to win an ATP Challenger Tour event on clay, beat Carsten Ball 76(4) 46 63 in Sarasota, FL, final... In June, he won his first ATP-level match at Eastbourne over No. 88 Crivoi 61 63, before making a 2nd RD exit to Dancevic... Went on to make his Grand Slam debut as a wild card at Wimbledon, losing to No. 8 Verdasco 61 63 64 in the 1st RD... In August, he attempted to qualify for US Open but fell in first round (l. to Levy)... Missed four months of the year due to glandular fever... Practised with Rafael Nadal in Mallorca during the off-season in December.

2011 - As a wild card entry at Queen's Club, the World No. 216 beat No.14 Wawrinka, defending champion Querrey and Mannarino en route to his first ATP World Tour SF (l. to No. 19 Tsonga)...Was watched by Prime Minister David Cameron in Mannarino match...It is the first time since 1999 Rotterdam (Henman, Rusedski) that two British players got to an ATP World Tour SF at the same event...Awarded wild card for Wimbledon...
2012 - Posted 1st win at Wimbledon (d. Andujar in 5 sets) and then lost in next round to No. 12 Fish in 5 sets as a wild card...
2013 - Won Lexington Challenger (d. Duckworth) and finished runner-up in West Lakes Adelaide and An-Ning as a qualifier. In Davis Cup, beat Tursunov in 5 sets to lead his country to win over Russia...
2014 - The British No. 2 (behind No. 6 Murray) put together his best season, finishing just outside Top 100 at No. 107...Qualified career-best 5 times into ATP World Tour level events, including at Roland Garros where he became 1st British player since John Lloyd in 1973 to qualify into main draw with a 4-6, 6-4, 12-10 win over Rola (l. to Robredo in 4 sets in 1R). Also qualified in Bogota (d. Ebden, l. to Wang), and at ATP Masters 1000 events in Cincinnati (d. Garcia-Lopez, l. to Benneteau)and Shanghai (l. to Anderson in 3 sets) with Kuala Lumpur in between (l. to Petzschner in 3rd set TB)...Made his ATP Masters 1000 debut at Indian Wells in March as a lucky loser (bye in 1R, l. to F.
