Second seeds Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor captured their third ATP World Tour doubles crown as they saved two match points to defeat third seeds Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic 3-6, 6-1, 12-10 on Sunday in the Shanghai Rolex Masters final.

After breaking serve twice in the second set to level the match, the Belarusian-Canadian duo trailed 8-9 and 9-10 in the Match Tie-break before converting their first match point opportunity for victory in 69 minutes.

"Obviously winning such a close match, seesaw at the end, was nice to win," said Nestor. "Beating the team that's probably been the best over the past few months, the most consistent; it's nice to beat them in a very tough, mentally gruelling match. Third set tie-break, it's just a matter of a couple lucky shots here and there. But fortunately we held our nerve and won in the end."

It marked their first title since early June, when they won the Roland Garros crown with victory over Juan Sebastian Cabal and Eduardo Schwank. They also triumphed at the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships in Memphis in February (d. Butorac-Rojer) and finished runners-up at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami (l. to Bhupathi-Paes) in April.

"I think it's huge momentum wise because we haven't strung together too many matches in a row," said Nestor. "This week we played four solid matches. Confidence always comes from winning matches. So we're not going to sit back and enjoy this. We're going to play Vienna, Basel and Paris and try to keep them going, hopefully playing our best by London."

The 34-year-old Mirnyi clinched his 40th tour-level title, improving to a 40-35 mark in finals. Nestor, 39, collected his 74th tour-level title in his 121st final; he trails only Mike Bryan (75 titles) among active players.

Both Mirnyi-Nestor and Llodra-Zimonjic have already clinched their berths at the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, to be held at London’s O2 Arena next month. Llodra and Zimonjic were contesting their seventh final of the season and were looking to win their second straight title after victory at the China Open in Beijing last week (d. Lindstedt-Tecau).
