Colombian Alejandro Falla received his $10,000 ATP ACES For Charity grant, in support of Tennis For Colombia, following his first-round win Tuesday at the Claro Open Colombia in Bogota.

ATP Supervisor Tom Barnes presented Falla with the cheque in an on-court ceremony attended by Tournament Director Manuel Mate and Tennis For Colombia General Manager Rodolfo Varela. One of the beneficiaries, Laura Camilla, also attended the presentation and met Falla for the first time. Falla is currently sponsoring Pinzon’s schooling.

"I want to thank the ATP for this donation. ATP ACES for Charity helps a lot of foundations around the world and I am very happy  to be one of the recipients," said Falla. "I want to thank Rodolfo Varela for all the hard work he has put in for Tennis for Colombia. I hope more people learn about this great cause and provide more opportunities to working children in our country."

Tennis For Colombia encourages the personal and social development of unprivileged ball kids who start working at local tennis clubs at a young age to support their families, thereby limiting their chance of receiving a good education. Created by a group of tennis players, all of whom serve as ‘godfathers’ of a child in the program, Tennis For Colombia provides academic scholarships so the children can have an education and improve their opportunities in life.

Tennis for Colombia's Director Rodolfo Varela said, "Thank to all the Colombian players Alejandro [Falla], Santiago [Giraldo], and Juan Sebastian [Cabal] that have supported our project and thanks to them we were able to obtain this grant. We also thank FXP motives, the organisation that helped us in the application process. We are helping 76 kids in eight cities across Colombia and it is great to provide children with an opportunity for education and a prosperous life."
