    1989 - In a qualifying singles match in Memphis against Matsuoka, he tore a ligament and broke a bone in his right thumb in the first set and switched to playing left-handed and lost narrowly 6-7, 7-6, 6-4...1990 - Reached doubles SF in Rotterdam, Bologna and Gstaad (w/Beckman)...1991 - Teamed with Laurie Warder to reach his first ATP Tour World Doubles Championship after winning titles in Monte Carlo and Bologna...1992 - Won doubles title in Bologna and Estoril (w/Warder) and finished No. 11 in Team Rankings...1993 - Won French Open doubles title with younger brother Murphy...They also reached finals in Sydney, Bologna and Tokyo-indoor to finish No. 5 in Team Rankings and qualify for World Championship...Underwent emergency appendectomy and had to miss final round-robin match...1994 - With Murphy, reached finals in Mexico City and Bogota...1995 - Teamed with Murphy to win Nottingham in June...The brothers also advanced to SF of Mercedes Super 9 stop in Indian Wells...1996 - Teamed with Murphy to win their third ATP Tour title in Long Island.

    The first born of tennis' rock n' roll tennis brothers, nicknamed Dual Hand Luke for his ability to play both left and right-handed...Won Boys 18s Nationals, Claycourts and Hardcourts in U.S. in 1984...Attended University of Southern California from 1986-87 and earned singles All-America honors both years (doubles in 87)...In past three years, has provided color commentary for ESPN and ESPN2 broadcasts on the ATP Tour...With Murphy, often performs musically on stage at various player parties on Tour...Hosted several ATP Tour Kids' Days and judged SMASH Tennis Air Guitar contests throughout 1995-96...Younger sisters, twins Rachel (turned pro in 1991) and Rebecca (won 1994 NCAA doubles championship at Kansas University), play on the WTA Tour...Mother, Patricia, is considered superagent of the family.
