One of the few ambidextrous players in the game. He does not make a
habit of it, preferring instead to hit both forehand and backhand with a two-
handed grip (he serves lefthanded). However, he does have the capability to
go for a ball wide to his right with a one-handed right stroke and same on
    the left side.
In June 1983, he became the fourth qualifier to win a Grand Prix title,
defeating Jimmy Brown at Venice, Italy. There are also three lucky losers to
    win a Grand Prix.
His career was sidetracked temporarily in 1982 when he did a stint in
the Argentine army. He began playing tennis at age five, encouraged by his
parents, and he competed in his first tournament at age nine.
He was the 1977 and 1981 Orange Bowl junior champion.
Earned a career-high $36,854 in 1985 and finished No. 49 on the ATP
    computer rankings in 1983, a year-end best.
Only won three of 10 matches and ranked No. 190 on the ATP computer in
    1989.
